Slovenia (Interrail Countries)

Slovenia is a country in Central Europe that lies in the eastern Alps at the northeastern end of the Adriatic Sea. Its neighbors are Austria to the north, Italy to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast and Croatia to the south. From the capital Ljubljana, with its Baroque and Art Nouveau monuments, you can be in the heart of the Slovene Alps in an hour. A trip by car to the remarkable karst cave at Postojna takes only half an hour. In two hours you can be on the Adriatic coast, and to reach the lovely Pannonian plain takes no more that three hours driving. The primeval forests in the south are only an hour away.
